Sweet Paw

Sweet Paw is a kind unicorn with a love for animals of all shapes and sizes.  She always knew she had a special connection with animals, but she didn't receive her cutie mark until she was almost out of her fillyhood.  For most of her life she saw other ponies as creatures to be hated and, more importantly, feared; only once she let others into her heart did she gain her cutie mark for her compassion for all living things.

On first appearance some take Sweet Paw to be cold and aloof: she doesn't look other ponies in the eye when speaking to them and rarely initiates conversation with ponies she doesn't know.  In reality, she's shy and introverted to an almost crippling degree.  Her fear of others ruled over her for most of her life, but Sweets has come a long way with her social skills and tries to push herself a little more every day.  Once she gets to know ponies, Sweet Paw becomes a completely different mare: she's funny, talkative, and caring, although she often fears that she's annoying her friends with her endless chatter about interests they don't share.  She's a good listener and is always willing to offer advice or support to anypony who needs it; in fact, it's one of her favorite things to do.  She's an honest mare, but sometimes she puts things too bluntly.  She hates when this happens and urges her friends to tell her if she's being rude or hurting their feelings.  Sweets believes that there's good in everypony regardless of how bad a pony he/she may be and assumes the best of everyone before making judgments.  She's has a great sense of humor and is rarely ever angered or offended; she prefers to look at the bright side of situations rather than dwell on the negative.  Sweet Paw loves her friends dearly and is very grateful for them, despite the fact that she isn't very expressive and doesn't show it much.

Sweets is an avid comic book reader and especially loves the Bat-family books. She also likes to watch movies (anything but romance), watch cartoons, draw, write, hang out with her friends, and take care of her animals.  Sometimes Sweet Paw's interests become obsessions and she'll spend weeks or even months only doing things that involve her fixation in some way.  While not very physically active, Sweet Paw enjoys swimming, especially in the ocean.  She lives in a cottage on the edge of Ponyville and works at the local animal shelter.
